    What Our Employees Say

Simone Steele, Customer Service Traverse City
"When joining FCB, I was becoming a member of a large team of people dedicated to working together for our company and clients. You will find no greater support of staff members any where else. I recommend you join our staff at FCB and experience the work environment. You will enjoy every work day. I have joined the Traverse City Branch of FCB. Please stop in and meet the incredible group of people focused on high quality customer service and achieving the goals of our bank."

    Simone Steele, Customer Service

Debbie Highway, Mortgage Lending"I have been an employee of FCB now for 6 months. At the time I was asked to join the company, I wasn’t looking for a change in my employment. Out of respect for Ed Arbut, whom I had worked with in the past, I chose to talk to him about his new bank. Upon doing some research, I was intrigued to learn that this was a family owned company for 100 years. During conversations with others I have learned about the family feel of the company as a whole. I found that to be the case in my office and through my personal experience. When a group of people become as close as family, it is a wonderful working environment."

    Debbie Highway, AVP Mortgage Lending

    Brian Braddock, Community President, PetoskeyPetoskey
"I left a large metro bank to come to FCB to start-up the Petoskey offices. I felt it was an opportunity to further my career, be allowed to have input to the strategic plan of the bank, and restore the passion I had for customers and my profession. Working for a family, in an independent community bank setting has been very challenging, rewarding, and allowed me to again service clients with superior customer service. It was a change I needed and am happy I made."

    Brian Braddock, Community President

Lisa Veurink, Teller"I like working at FCB because I thrive in an organized environment. Helping people keep their finances organized is a daily goal. Our staff is kind & helpful not only to customers but to other employees. Overall, FCB offers a pleasant working environment."

    Nicki Southwell, Customer ServiceHarbor Springs
"I like working here because I feel that I can grow here. I’ve been able to learn so much since I’ve started; from increasing my banking knowledge to going back to school to get my degree. It’s wonderful to know that you are encouraged to make yourself better. And by making myself better, I can do a better job for the bank!"

    Nicki Southwell, Customer Service

Anne Payne, Mortgage Lending"After 17 years, I’m on my second tour of duty with First Community Bank! I’ve worked for five other financial institutions, and this has been my all-time favorite job. FCB has a professional working environment, yet retains the small-town, friendly atmosphere that our customers appreciate. Our decisions are made locally, without all the red tape. Technologically, we surpass many banks much larger than we are. It’s a pleasure to work here, alongside a dedicated staff, nice owners, and one awesome view! I’m thankful every day…"

    Ann Payne, VP Mortgage Lending

Sue Boyer, Customer Service"I LOVE MY JOB!!! My name is Sue Boyer/Customer Service Representative. I have worked at FCB on and off since 1985. Starting as a part time teller when there were only three locations; now there are eight! Working my way up to full time teller, then Customer Service. I love meeting customers, solving problems, and finding just the right product to fulfill their needs. The Clarke family has been very generous from the benefits we receive to the full work-out area with showers. Not to mention the wonderful Christmas parties! The officers are known to grill a hamburger or hotdog on occasions for the staff. Lots of laughs. All in all this is a classy place to work."

    Sue Boyer, Customer Service

Susan Cavell, Investment Executive"I started at this bank in 1985 as a part time teller. I moved away from Harbor Springs in 1991 leaving a job that I really liked. I moved downstate and started to work for a large regional bank and soon became involved in the investment side of the banking world. I have been handling investments for clients for 15 years. Almost 3 years ago I moved from the big bank back to the small community bank that I started my career at. I feel like I have come home after a long journey. The staff is friendly, caring and supportive of one another. It's like having your own extended family at work. I am so glad I made the move back to First Community Bank!"
